Meet Executive Chef Ruben Barrigan.
Ruben Barragan joined Oakmont of West Las Vegas with an impressive culinary background. When he began his career, he spent time in Italy working in fine dining establishments in Milan and Rome. Ruben quickly developed an appreciation for gourmet cuisine. Upon his return to the U.S., he sought out opportunities at well-known restaurants across the Western United States. Ruben was previously the Executive Sous Chef at the Riviera Hotel in Palm Springs and held esteemed positions at the Ritz Carlton in Marina Del Rey and the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas.
Ruben’s great grandmother introduced him to the joys of cooking. She owned a small restaurant in California and he grew up assisting her in the kitchen. Ruben was particularly drawn to their customers’ reactions when they would taste the food he and his grandmother had made together; their immediate smiles of satisfaction confirmed that they were pleased with their final product. Working for Oakmont Senior Living allows Ruben to honor his great grandmother every day. He says, “I am tasked with creating fresh, organic dishes for seniors at a company that values creativity and innovation.”
We invite you to come in for a meal at Oakmont of West Las Vegas and experience our exceptional dining program first hand.
